Machining Flywheel
Is it possible to machine an Aluminum flywheel? I am going to replace my clutch and don't want to have to buy a new flywheel...
on a side note- anyone ever heard of competition clutches? Honda-tech is offering clutch disk, throwout bearing, and pressure plate for 315 shipped ("stage two"), does anyone have any experience with "competition clutches"?
Thanks in advance

yes you can machine aluminum flywheels. from what i have heard the comp. clutch is a really good clutch alot of guys in the forced induction forum use them.
Is it a fidanza 8lb aluminum flywheel? if so, you will probably have a hard time machining it because there is a wear surface bolted to the flywheel. the wear surface is supposed to be replaceable but ive never seen replacements sold or heard of anyone that has done so.
