Default underdrive pulley

im about to buy this underdrive pulley for my em2, they say that it can increase response a little and i was wondering something. my friend told me it might expletive up your engine if you dont have a harmonic balancer, i dont know much about pullies so i was wondering what a harmonic balancer looks like ? i just want to make sure it has it before i purchase it.

Ninja editing requires having no date-stamp for when it was modified.

Anyways, removing the harmonic balancer on the crankshaft would be quite a dumb idea. Because you'll only have that 3whp you'd gain from the underdrive pulleys for a short time, due to other, actually expensive problems.

so toyomatt would you suggest that I go back to stock pulley kits than keeping my aem ones? I was thinking of doing it. it's the power steering pulley and the water pump if i'm correct.

Well, the crankshaft pulley should stay stock. The others don't really matter as much. I'd keep them stock, since Honda spends millions designing cars, and they're that size for a reason.

yeh that crankshaft is stock. i heard you can't upgrade all 3 at once it throws things off. i don't like that aem's because i get a screetch noise with the ac on at rpms over 3000.

As stated hundreds of times before. There's no amount of bolt-on's that will produce actually noticeable power improvements. At the absolute most, you'll see 10-15hp. Nothing to shout about, for over $500 in parts.

Once again good advice ( I think i have a crush...lol)

You'd be surprised what these bad boys will do givin a little handling attention. After a brembro upgrade on brakes and some suspension and tire upgrades... she handles almost as good as my CRX... well better than it did, but definitley fun to drive

I'm redoing what suspension work I've done in the remainder of this year. Some things just didn't pan out like they were supposed to. So, I guess an upgrade was in order. Now, I've just got replacement calipers, rotors, the new camber kit, and the flipped tie rod ends, so I can do the work. I may even throw some bushings into the mix for some flavor.

-flipped tie rod ends??

-and bushings... flavor is always good, i like flavor

-as far as brakes go if anyone wants suggestions... or even if you don't I had a brembo rotor and hawk pad setup, amazing, stops on a dime with no "warpage" or exessive heat and some dust but the stopping is incredible

Already have Hawk's, and I'm happy with them. I'm talking a more complicated change-over.

yeh if u install aem's underdrive pulley kit and turn the ac. have the windows down and shift atleast 3,000 rpm's. you'll hear it screetch. turn off your ac and shift after 3,000 rpm's, nothing. i'm either gonna take em off or if someone knows a fix by god yes.
