I would love to drive this track in real life one day. GT4 is a good alternative but driving the real track would be the ****. lol.

Great pics! I love that older M5! I am anxiously planning my trip to the Ring...I live in Bonn right now so its only a short drive away.
Still working on picking out the perfect rental car for my trip down. Its intimidating to think about being a first timer among all those guys.

You might want to watch taking a rental car out on the track. Alot of insurance companies set up bounties with the employees to spot rental cars so the rental companies can charge you more money after you bring the car back for taking it out on the track.
This might help you out on your trip.

Definately wont be doing that! Not that I care to get banned from Hertz for life, but Im sure the fine would be heavy. I will be renting from a DRT company who has cars specifically set up for Nurburgring. Looking at a E30 325E (actually the one from Ringhaus on the weblink) right now for probably half-day sometime later this month or in Sept maybe?
Let me know if you plan on going again soon, I want to check out the track before I go to drive it. Plus I wouldnt mind getting to ride shotgun for lap or 2 to get a feel for things if its okay? Meeting up with a fellow HTer at the Ring would be too cool!
