Default Help me with Cooling my hatch!!

My car is currently getting a little hot, especially since the weather is crapy and humid. I am running the Inline Pro 600 hp intercooler, mishimoto radiator. The downpipe is close to the radiator and this is some of the problem. Do you have any suggestions for cooling the car more efficiently? Holes in the front bumper? New raditor? Any help is greatly apperciated!

I would try wrapping the dowpipe with heat insulation for starters. You can also try water wetter.

I think I am going to shim the back of the hood as well to help get heat out of the engine bay.

That is what I did. Totally keep my temp under my hood cooler.

I used a shrouded FAL type fan after having the same problem. Previously I had used a shroudless fan with a lowercfm rating. Problem went away. Some just make their own shroud to cover the part of the radiator that the fan doesn't cover.
Earlier I drilled about 7 holes in the front bumper. The bumper blocked the IC and radiator from getting adequate air flow. It helped some but the fan and shroud really eliminated the problem.

Do you have pics of this fan and your setup? I would be curious to take a look! Thanks!

get a fal fan switch so you can control when your fans turn on. get bigger flowing fans and water wetter always helps.

Here, I can tell you what worked for me. My fans kick on @ 180 and the temp never gets above 195...ever.

I have my fan wired on all the time, and I am running water wetter. When cruising the car runs at like 195-200. It is just like when it sits it will creep up then when I move hold at a higher temp then back down. I personally think that the hood being shimmed in the back will allow a bunch of the heat to go away as well. One other thing I wanted to ask is where do you guys have your temp gauge wired to?? Do you have it in the stock gauge mounting position on the block, or do you have it directly to the thermostat?? I am asking this because I know this could have something to do with this issue as well. Please let me know..Thanks for all the good info thus far!
