Default windshield clear tint

Didn't read anything about anyone tinting the whole windshield with clear tint. Anyone's my friend and I are going to limo tint my moonroof soon and clear tint my windshield. help control the heat better. What yall think?

yeah clear. well if you're tinting your car what's the point if sun keeps coming through the windshield and moonroof. not really blocking the heat. so if you get everything you will get a bigger difference. yeah and it's literally clear. I'm going to check out the tint to see how clear.

The darkness is not what inhibits the heat from getting through. you can go from limo to 70% and have the same heat reduction, mirror like effect, and rays reduction.

Seems like a decent idea to me. I suppose if (God forbid) anything were to happen to your windscreen, it might also serve to stop it shattering on you and in your car.

yup. also if you do crash in a front end collision and it's a big impact, lean your body against the front of your car so you don't take the impact but just the pressure. you'll fly back in your seat after but atleast you don't get the crash impact.

still want to know why sujak says it's not safe though. I want to know his thoughts on it.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Whether in the heat of the moment of "an incident" you would have that thought process fast enough or not is perhaps another story. **** tends to happen very quickly with car crashes.

I'm guessing Sujak mis-read the post and thought you were dark tinting the front screen...?

haha yeah if you respond that fast you could. in regards to dark tinting the front, yeah i could see how that is unsafe but we'll see if or when he responds.

You are right, that stuff is used to protect paint from stonechips and the like. People tend to wrap the front 1/3 of the car in it. It's popular with owners of high end cars (as shown on the site) because it's a crap load cheaper than a front end respray. Especially if you own something like a Phantom or a 599.

EM2_UK#1: oh I see

DsevenEm2: Cool. Well tints are designed to reduce glare so it should be less glare. I shouldn't be much difference in viewing as tinting with a darker tint except there are no changes to darkness.

Some tints have metallic particles in them to reflect the heat.

just do it. it seems reasonable enough but legal, i dont know. i could see someone who has sensitive skin or some kind of skin disorder having something like that.
