H22A Question
I did not know where to post this, but since the H22A was a Prelude Engine (as well as Accord).
My question is: What's the worse I would have to do if a single valve spring retainer broke? Also, would that cause the timing belt to break as well?
Thanks!

if a valvespring broke....you got some big problems. Time to pull the head off and inspect the damage because there will be damage....how much? i dont know. Once you pull the head off you will know.
timing belt can break from being too tight and from being old and stretched with too much tension.....auto tensioner could have failed as well.

The timing broke broke the same time the spring retainer broke...
Ok, so will I have to rebuild/replace the entire head or can I just replace the valve that broke or...?
What prevents the valve from falling into the cylinder if a spring retainer breaks??

if the retainer stayed where it should, the valve keepers would keep the valve from dropping. But i would imagine that once both the springs break, the keepers would fly off along with the retainer and the valve would drop into the combustion chamber after the piston started its way down the bore.
