My luck just gets shittier.
Driving home on the interstate friday night (2am) and the motor starts knocking. push in the clutch and it shuts off. I tried to crank it a few times but no luck. Pulled over. Tried to crank it and it just stopped turning.

Now to get it off the interstate. Im about to fall asleep, my phones screen is broken so i can only call numbers i know off the top of my head. My friend just got back from the track with his mustang and had his trailer hooked up to his f250. So i call him. He says no, he is in bed. I call the wrong numbers about 15 times and finally get one guy to come out there. He is in his prelude and has no way to move the car. He takes me home and i pass out on the way home in his car.

Wake up the next morning. I used my stepsisters phone to get numbers out of it and finally get the right numbers. A buddy of mine works for a tow company and said he will be there in 10 minutes to get it. I go and meet him, The car had been broken into, bent my passenger side door frame, Stole my radio, broke some dash peices, went through the one bag that was in my car and left it for me to find.

I am lucky as crap that the car did not get stolen, guess it pays to live in alabama sometimes...if it was any where else the car would be gone.

Now im at a breaking point. Either keep the car and wait a year till school is out and fix it then...needs a respray and a few little things.

Or sell it or trade it and buy a swapped civic.

tough choice, but after what has happened, im now carless, broke, and need a car for work and school.

 

Dang, that is a bad couple days. Judging from your post, is your car not fully insured?

 

It is fully insured. But the deductable is $500. Insurance is high enough. No reason to report it. Just pay everything out of pocket if i decide to keep it

 

Damn, shitty to shittier... Times get rough, I say stick with the car, store it until you can get it fixed. I WOULD go through insurance though, this won't make your rates go up. (Shouldn't)

This whole situation could have been a lot worse and, since it didn't get stolen, you should definitely keep it... and hunt for replacement parts for sale on H-T!

 

bad luck homie. Like i said to ya, luckily the **** isnt stolen. Still sucks tho about all the damage those losers caused. I wonder if you know the theif??

 

Go through insurance and get a check, fix what needs to be fixed and use the rest to fix the motor. Fix the rest over time. And as someone else said, this should not increase your rates.

 

This type of claim should not raise your premiums. If you've had multiple claims, then I could understand something happening. Just file the insurance claim and get it fixed.

 

I may try and do it. get a new radio and fix some stuff with the left over money.

Ill check more into it tomorrow.

Lol yea a lot of stuff coulda been ganked. Not like there is much else to get besides what you said. Gutted interior helps sometimes.

It really is a miracle nothing else got stolen. If it was anywhere else the car would be GONE. I am lucky. still waiting on insurance stuff.
