weird noise only in the rain?
hi everyone..i bought my 03 si back in january, so im kinda new to honda..
what im posting about is kinda weird, but maybe for some reason someone knows the answer or can help.
a couple months ago i was driving my car, and it was raining pretty bad, and all of a sudden i noticed a strange sound comming from my exhaust, well really it sounds like its comming from the middle area, like right under the front seats. sometimes it sounds like the exhaust, is banging up against the bottom of the car, and also the exhaust has a different sound to it, kind of louder, and also sounding like the exhaust dumps right underneath of me.
now this happened this one time, i was on my way somewhere, by the time i got there the rain had stopped and so had the noise. strange, but me and my boyfriend looked under the car and what not and nothing seemed to really be out of place.
so i forgot all about this until the next time it rained hard(not drizzles, like real rain, with puddles and what not)...now being a few months later i realize every time that it rains decently hard, this happens. the exhaust sounds loud, and like its dumping right underneath me, and sometimes like its banging against the car. when it happens it doesnt effect the performance of the car or anything, and when it's not raining hard enough or not raining at all, the car is comlpetely normal. no sound, and no banging.
the only reason i havent brought it to get checked out honestly is because i forget about it until it rains hard enough and hear the sound, and also if i was to bring it somewhere and it wasn't raining they wouldnt be able to hear or think anything is wrong anyway....
sooooooooo, i figured id give it a shot and see if anyone has any ideas, i know it's a long shot, but ..help please

same exact thing happens to me car, first time it happened I checked all the bolts to make sure they were correct. Well they were, so I replaced all my hangers with some polyurethane hangers and that stoped it.
Finally someone else posted this before me, in relatively heavy rain, sounds almost like something is off balance, like a wiper blade that is "chattering" across the windshiled but it's a lot deeper.
go back to stock. thats what i did lol.
but if you really want to fix it, the only way is to extend the hangers so your exhaust hangs LOWER (as if the 7thgen's aftermarket exhausts dont hang low enough...). The reason it rattles as you have read is because cold water+hot exhaust = massive vibs so thats the only recommendation i have for you.
