TRansmission help/advise
Hey guys/gals....I have 1 ms24(93si 5speed) and it constantly seeps(not drips or leaks) tranny fluid out of the axle seal on the passenger side.I replace the seal 2 times to no avail, and finally took to a shop. They now alot about honda and are very reputable in our town.He told me it was a pre loaded shim, and it needed to be replaced,he said to wait untill it was out for a new clutch to repair it,that way I save on labor.
I was wondering if anybody has ran into this problem before, and if so how difficult was it to fix?Should I just pull the tranny, then tkae to the shop and have them do it,or try to tackle it myself....it would have to be taken apart, and I never have dis-assembled a tranny before. What do u think? Thanks

How bad does it seep?
I wouldn't attempt to do this w/o any experience of
doing it before. If it's a slow leak I'd just do like the guy at the shop
says and wait till your clutch or rear main goes out, just keep
an eye on the fluid.

Not bad but it drives me crazy!I am going to do my clutch this month (aug),so I guess I will have to check around and see what the cost will be from various tranny shops, and honda shops....its just that I am broke and dont want to dump a bunch of cash into this when a good used tranny can be had for a descent price.
