wtf is this and how to remove it (pic)
so I'm pulling my engine harness off of the d16a6 and ran into a last problem on the last plug. This is the only thing that's left to remove, then the wiring harness will be free. But I don't know if there is a "proper" way to take it off.
I'd figure I'd just pull it, but I don't want to break it considering I'll prob be using this harness for my new OBD1 motor. Below is a pic:

I circled the plug that was giving me trouble and labeled it 1
2 is a plug next to it that I was able to just "pull off" but 1 is giving me a harder time. It's prob something simple...but I don't want to take any chances.

Just pull it from the Plastic part & for #2 pull the Black cover back, the black cover might break cause it old... Don'tNot from the wire. It's a lil hard some times

on mine there were little plastic covers at the tips of the wires were they connect and you just have to pop those up and pull the wire off. It gave me a little trouble too so be patient.
1 is like 2 .. but its got 2 wires instead of 1. pull the plastic cover back a bit and pull from the actual plug or you'll rip the wire out of the plug.

the one on the right is the oil pressure sensor, and on the left i think its a nock sensor correct me if im wrong.
you are right on the oil pressure sensor which is used for the dummy light on the cluster but you are wrong on the other one. That is the coolant temp switch for the radiator fan

correct, if you are using an obd1 engine the coolant temp sensor is located on the thermostat housing(where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine) you will need to locate a 2 wire female connector from an obd1 harness, either from a junkyard or stealership. what i did was cut the wires at that connector and removed the wire loom from that section, reloomed the section leaving the 2 wires exposed, the soldered the new sensor onto the old wires green to yellow and black to black, then electrical taped the wires to protect them from the elements. hope this helps.-Anthony
