Default Password whale ***** intake for GSR intake amni in an EM1. Will the GSR one work?

I cracked my ITR head and picked up a GSR so I have to get a new new intake. I want to get a PasswordJDM CF whale ***** but will the GSR intake clear the shock tower and fit in an EM1? Just want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks.

GSR and ITR's have different manifolds in the sense of where their Throttlebody's are positioned. It probably wouldnt fit too well, based on the fact that the GSR's intake must angle down to fit onto the throttlebody, because the Intake manifold is inverted upsidedown, compared to the conventional setup like B16's, B18b's, ITR, ect.

^On the left is the GSR manifold, which is inverted and its T/B is lower than that of the Integra Type R's intake manifold, which is on the right.

Another angle, so you can see the difference.

Im not saying it wont fit, but it probably wont fit very well without some modifying.

i concur, as a former GSR owner, and current b16a driver in my eg8 ... most or all GSR intakes will not fit at all or vice versa with b16/type-R/LS intakes.

it'll fit, but you'll have to angle the filter down toward the tranny more, and it may not clear all strut bars if you have one

I have a stock strut bar. I want to buy a Mugen in the next few months though.

just to be more clear, i meant that GSR intake piping wont fit b16/typeR/LS IM's..

and just the other day i tried to fit a GSR(same for all integras) OEM filter housing and it seemed that the holes didnt seem to fit at all. are you sure all i need to do is angle it downwards, i'll give it another try when i get a chance and post what happens.

um, if you cracked the head why don't you swap the ITR manifold onto the gsr head?

the fact that no one else has suggested this makes me think i may be missing something here.

Because the GSR intake mani has a different flange then all other b series vtec heads.

And no one here is understanding my question. I KNOW THAT MY IT'S INTAKE WONT FIT A GSR MANI. I KNOW THERE INVERTED. I WANT TO KNOW THAT IF I BUY A NEW INTAKE FOR A GSR, WILL THE GSR INTAKE CLEAR THE SHOCK TOWER ON MY EM1. I DONT PLAN ON TRYING TO USE MY ITR INTAKE. WILL THE GSR AIR INTAKE FIT IN MY CAR WHEN I GET MY THE GSR HEAD AND INTAKE MANIFOLD?

Yes, the factory GSR intake should fit into your Em1, just as it did in the DC.

Seems like a lot of confusion here.

Question he is asking is: I put a GSR head and intake manifold on my EK Civic. I want to know if the INTAKE TUBE from the throttle body to the air filter will fit. Does anyone know?

OK, you'll need a password JDM whale dick for a GSR. If you get one for ITR/B16, etc, it will hit the strut tower. In fact, even the right one will be really close to your strut tower.

First of all, that intake is a very expensive piece of garbage! Great for low end throttle response, but horrible for mid/high end torque. I looks really nice (until it becomes eerily reminiscent of a whale's *****), but it sucks for performance. Unless you absolutely MUST use the one you have, I'd get a better intake made for your motor, but you can make the one you have fit. I helped my friend put one on his gsr about 8 months ago. I think we had to fabricate a mounting bracket, but I don't think the ebay strut bar he had was a problem.

Yes, I agree. The AEM V2 hybrid intake would probably be a better choice performance wise.
