Default alright, i need some help H-T people.

I am working on a 95 honda civic LX. The deal is, I sold it to this dude (older guy) and told him i can help with maintenence. Well the timing belt jumped, or somthing. It wasn't in good shape. it was eating thru the timing cover. Long story short, i put a new belt on, and it won't start. I had rebuilt the engine 5 yrs ago, and had a nice easy 2 c mark on the crank gear. I'm doing everything to the T but it wouldn't start. It did start once, but sounded like complete a@@, so i had him shut it right off. So i figured i was close, and moved it a couple of teeth and now it won't start again. I had everything TDC. Any suggestions.??

It's only been eight minutes since you posted the thread. Give it a few.

If I see it hasn't been answered in a bit, I'll come in the bump at least. Wish I could help.

Check that all grounds are connected back; depending on car, like ground to thermostat housing or engine block, etc.

I have never seen a honda tbelt jump teeth with everything else set and working properly. Does the engine turn over like WAA WAA WAA WAA WAA or does it go WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE? Bent valves?

If the timing belt jumped teeth there's a good chance that you roasted the valves. If you roasted the valves, it's not gonna run good regardless of how many teeth you move it.

Ha, NON-INTERFERENCE ENGINES FTMFW!!

Just to expletive with people I do that all the time on engines I KNOW are non-interference.

Just walk over and start cranking it over w/o a timing belt. It's usually good for a couple of heart attacks.

well the car is running now. I'm not 100% sure it jumped. But is was sliding off, and eating up the timing cover. like i said tho, it's running, but there is an exhaust leak, and the plugs are sh$t, so i told the dude to buy that crap, and i'll throw it on, and see what it looks like after that.
