every time i put a new o2 in my car after a few good runs it goes out check engine light is there a better one wire o2 to get to maybe keep from having this happen? i'm running a little rich but nothing to extreme i think it's just from the extreme heat that's causing the fouled o2 but i'm not sure.....any suggestions?

 

you're using a one wire O2 sensor ?

When you remove the O2 sensor, is it wet? If it is, your motor may be blown and you are spraying oil. You can try cleaning your O2 sensor with brake cleaner.

 

no i still have a good motor no oil or anything on it just a lot of carbon build up.....can i really use brake cleaner to clean it? i thought i wasn't supposed to touch the sensor or it would damage it?

 

why would you use a one wire o2. is that just a non heated one?

 

I've used brake cleaner a few times on my O2 sensor and no problems... your milage may vary.

 

that's the wire that went into my crx so that's what i replaced it with
and so you're saying that brake cleaner doesn't mess up the o2 sensor?(it's brand new but went out after a few days of carbon build up
