Default howcome slicks didnt help?

K so I've heard that slicks can shave off about a second.I raced my car last night integra gsr turbo untuned at 5psi.i did a 14.123@101mph with 2.2 60''s .therw on some of my friends 22 or 23" slicks not sure which size they were @7psi on 13" lensos. K heat um up till they start pulling me.first run launching at around 6k...I run a 14.1 @100mph 2.3 60's..then next run heat um up more. launch was at 7,200 and I only ran a 14.0 @100mph with a2.198 60"..Idk why it didn't make that much of a diffrence cause it was my first time with slicks and it felt pretty crazy off the line compared to the steet tires.what could be wrong here?

that has nothing to do with the question.but yes I know its still untuned.Im waiting on my rc injectors to come in then it'll be tuned on hondata at 10psi.It felt like healthy enough to not blow up so I tried it a few runs to get a untuned time mark and see how much off a diffrence the tune is actually making from the tuners down here.cause we aint got that much tuners down her. but here are some numbers/dynos of who wil be tuning it http://www.prostreet.net/phpbb .check it out

Perhaps the car bogged off the line? At 7psi tire pressure you might have too much grip for the power you're making.

nah the car didn't bog what so ever.lauched at 7,200 and it spun just a little then took off like a jet plane.but yah might have too much grip for the power im making...it was doing 12.8 on my friends k20eg so idk I know it got some grip.but when i get my own slicks ill try mess around with the tire pressure.

Was the track prepped last night? What kind of suspension are you running?

Notice how your 60' is the same. Slicks are supposed to help your 60' and if they don't your not gonna run any faster. Your either bogging or spinning them. More practice will help.

True story.com

You need a LOT more seat time. In my built Z6 powered EF, with 22x8x13" DOT slicks, and ONLY slipover coilovers, on a crappy prepped track I was cutting high 1.9 60 foots, and running 12.92 @ 108.97.

It's all in the seat time. Keep practicing.

ur 60 ft sucks, i was running consistent 1.7's on my 22' slicks, 15' rim, those slicks are too beefy for the power ur making.

I dont think they prep outlaws too much so I've heard...and as for suspension some $50 ebay coilovers...gonna order some omnis soon.though.

well I've heard h22's were kinda weak on the cylinder that went.but yup it would have lasted longer if it was tuned. He just waited too long.but dont worry he got a fully built h22 set up coming in sleeved/pistons/rods/crank/port/polishhead everything.should be mean when its done.hopefully 11second passes maybe 10's

which car was that? I know my friends one was on there but it was 400hp on pump I believe @12.5psi not sure wat size the turbo was though but it was a stock block and cams.thats about it....how much is a set up like that supposed to make??

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by herecomesboost &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Are you bogging off the line?</TD></TR></TABLE>

nope not bogging..it pulls hard....well harder then the street tires thats for sure

how about you come down here and show me how its done then.I was only following directions when I did my pass.My friends ek does 10's so Im sure the tips he was teaching me are very good and realiable.heres the step by step.i rolled through the water box.pulled up the e.started my burnout in second gear.held that fuc|(er on the limmitter untill the slicks heated up and dragged me out of there .dropped the e brake. did another small spin before the line.lined up.preloaded and then took off launching at around 7,200rpms sliding it out then pedal down.felt like it was pulling pretty hard compared to my falken zeix street tires.so what did I do wrong.dont criticise until you've been in my seat k.thats the end of the story

Not to be an *** here but it clearly doesn't pull any harder. Your 60' are the same. Maybe it "feels" that way to you but in reality it is not. More practice will help solve all this.

exactly... as i said also... The numbers dont lie... if it pulled harder, you wouldnt have posted this.... Your technique or your execution is defiantely "askew"

like everbody said you gotta practice. Do the slicks still have meat on them? Maybe you gotta lower you launch RPM. I dont think they prep the track that good for the friday night outlaws so that also could be a factor. gotta go to the regular drags when they prep the track good.

Ill try at the day time drags then...Since my 60' is same.1 factor is I might not be making enough power to fully spin 1st to the point where it would slow me down on street tires right?I guess I could be spinning just enough to have a good pull out while spinning?um the slicks wheren't mine but they looked like they had a good amount of meat.I was scared to launch lower and bog....time to let diga drive my car I guess one pass and see what it do.or if he's not there maybe you can try um phil.but could it be the tire pressure too?7psi too low for my set up? I mean Im only on 5psi boost.and the slicks were being used on a k series eg .so K ill go get more seat time and let u guys know how it goes....but was the 2.2 60' good for street tires?I was getting a 2.2 60' even when my car was all motor doing 14.7's@94mph??
