over heating h22a!!!!!??????
i busted a top radiator hose the other day. i replaced the hose put new fluid in new thermostat and bled the system. still over heats. WTF should i try a 160 thermo? i am also pretty damn sure its not a warped or cracked head. some times it will not over heat and then others it just sky rockets.

You can use coolant if you really want, but the watter wetter actually keeps temps lower with just water and the w.w.,as oposed to coolant and w.w.
It works great and is race and road proven.Just make sure if it reaches below freezing temps where u live....u swap out at end of summer for anti freeze, because it provides no cold weather protection.

If the bottom one is cold and the top one is hot the thermo isn't opening. The proper way to bleed your system is to run the car without the radiator cap on until the fans kick on twice. I find that you can squeeze the bottom hose to allow the coolant to flow a little better.
After the fans kick on, throw the radiator cap on then bleed the screw on the tstat housing. Switching to a lower temp tstat will do nothing but give you an improper warm-up.

Amen. Screw the low-temp thermo. And screw WW and water. Fix your problem and you won't have to cut corners like that.
And it sounds like your thermo isn't opening. You can always pull it, boil and it watch to make sure it works.

gl man. i've been dealing w/ cooling issues for 2 yrs. to me, sounds like you have air in the system, but here's a few things to try.
-if you already replaced ur thermo, make sure u use an oem thermo
-bleed the system
-make sure your fans are coming on when their supposed to - if not, check the fuse and the relay.
-check all grounds
-try flushing the whole system w/ a chemical flush (i'm gonna try this one when i get a chance)
just a few...

someone recommended it to me. said it gets out alot of build up in the system. alot more than water alone. i havent' tried it yet. when i went to the store to buy one, they had a basic one that you just run through the system for 10-15mins, and another one that you leave in and drive 2-6 hrs. i'm gonna try the latter when i have some time.
This thread is great because my h22a was overheating and i checked the fluid it was full then i went to the hoses the bottom 1 was barely warm the top was super hot took out the thermo and it looked rough so i ordered 1 from the dealership so hopefully thats the problem
Thanks Rob
