I NEED HELP!!!!!
I had just bought a 1995 Honda Civic Hatch and it has D16z6 sohc vtec with a T3/T4 turbo and as soo as i got it home it started to make a really bad knocking noise. It sounds like it is coming from under the valve cover but everything looks right and nothing is loose. He also replaced the stage three clutch with a stock clutch. Any one have any idea of where or whwt the knocking is?
Anything making a 'knocking' noise isnt a good sign. Sounds like a shady deal. It may be valve related, lets hope its not rod knock, then your in for a world of hurt unfortunatly.
Before i actully bought the car i drove it for a day and everything was fine, no knocking or anything, but i also have plenty of time to work on it so it dont really care what it is i just wanna get it fixed, and the knock isnt a repeated knock, its goes randomly, like sometimes it will go real fast and then slow down and it will go in diffrent patterns. Could i possibly sucked something through my turbo ?
well you can thank god its only a d16z6. so put a stock clutch back on? youre going to need one asap. that stocker clutch wont hold any kind of turbo setup.
it could just be that you need a valve adjustment.

i dont think it is that but when it does it and i have my foot on the clutch i can feel it through the clutch petal, do you think it could be something in the trans when he changed the clutch?

i had a rpm related knocking coming from under my valve cover once. Took the cover ff and rotated the timing belt. Timing belt was cut in half. Lucky me though because the half still connected kept my pistons from killing my valves. Good luck

so you think it is my timing? i would really hope that that is the problem but like i said it is extremly loud, almost to the point that if you were to take a hammer and start hitting the valve cover with it, its loud
