Default !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alright...first of all im fukin pissed because i jus fixed my car and all i needed was to get it smogged. so i go to smog and they tell me to go get it reffed and the ******* failed me. i passed smog, but i didnt pass the inspection. the car is a 1990 honda civic lx with a d16y7, crappy intake and an exhaust other than that everything stayed original. so i now have two options
1. switch out this motor and find the original (cost bout 600-800)
or
2. put all the components of the motor i have right now and put them in. (1400)

*jus a reminder im only 17 and have no money*

damn it costs $800 for a d15b2 out there? in nj they're seriously giving them away

But I would put back in the d15b2 and have it like stock.

I dont know the ca laws, but the way you're making it sound is if you'll have to convert the car to obd2 and run the obd2 ecu and all that ****..

BTW I've never scene a d-series accord..if i recall all 96 years had either f or h motors

ok...try to find a shop that will do a crooked smog check. I'm sure it will cost a lot less than 800.

your car passes the emission's part so you're not really hurting anything. In the meanwhile, if you are still worried about the test, do a stock swap.

its not the end of the world by any means. Good Luck

you could get a sohc zc for 400 bucks at hmotorsonline with the intake, exhaust manifold, everything. I think that may be easier to pass of for smog because it isnt vtec.

thanks for the reply guys.
i have looked into just putting in the original d15b2 but since the d16 i have right now has only 40k i might as well keep it. i would get a stock engine but i dont want to pay to get in swapped in and i honestly dont know how to do it
the state ref did say i needed to run the car on OBD2, and take out my exhaust
as far as getting a crooked smog, would any of you guys do it? i mean the ref already looked at it and in the system it said that no smog can do it, i have to go back to the ref

ooooh, you're fucked then. you have to do the swap. going obd2 would be useless and not really worth all the work.

use the search button up top and good luck

MOVE OUT OF KALIFORNIA

Sorry, but everytime I hear about the ref said this and my smog was failed for the other thing or the government came to my house and took my guns because they knew I had them cause I registered them or risked being arrested I thank whatever power there is that I don't live in Kali.

Sorry again, but I hear Nevada is nice too
