i know this one gets asked alot but found nothing usefull in "search".
1st gen crx , have 14's know. 15's, 16's, 17's????????

go with 15s or even stick with the 14s, anything bigger is ridiculous (sp) on a honda

I used to have 16" TSW Blades on my '87 hatch Si and i didnt roll the fenderwells and they rubbed really bad on turns and cornering. They were also 7.5" wide though. Then i had 90-91 crx si alloys they looked alright but for the last year or so i had '96 GSR's the slant spoke style and they look awesome! I recommend you stay with a 15 anything else dwarfs the car and they just dont look good.

 

15X6 is what I run and haven't had any problems with rubbing, and mine's lowered 2.5"

 

I have sixteens and they only rubbed when I lowered my car 3 inches with Skunk 2 coilovers so just dont slam it.

 

You have to consider 2 things the bigger the wheel, the less tire you're using. It's not so much the size of the wheel, it's the thickness. If you use something like that 16x7.5 of course its gonna rub. Me personally I'd go with a 15x6.5, I've never heard anything bad about that size, at least on a 2nd gen. I have a 17x7.0 but I wouldn't recommend that size at all. Maybe a 6.5 but it's still a bumpy ride.

i use 16s but i may even go to 15s they are a lot better on hondas

 

I'm gonna have to say do 15's as well dude.

 

my brother used to have an 85 Si with 16" wheels on them. They were way too big for the car IMO, but they didn't rub. I would say 15" is the biggest you should have. With my preference at 14"

 

i have 17's 17x6 i think dont rub but i dont like them hopefully new wheels by summer

 

15's will look the best and be the most functional.
