Default ~~Story/picture timeline of my Hondas so far.~~

I'm bored, stuck in town waiting for the shop to weld in a resonator into my exhaust so it stops making hideous ricer noise and racking up tickets, so i figure i'l kill time by writing up a short "timeline" of my hondas so far... so here goes.

When i got my license a couple years ago, i was lookin at buying either an MR2 or a del Sol, the MR2's were too expensive, so i ended up with a '95 del Sol S as my first car. It was in rough shape. I wish i had before pictures, but at the time i didnt realize i would be into the car scene like i am now. Anywho i paid $2500 for it in pretty rough shape, but mechanically sound condition.
I drove it for hardly a month before my neighbor who restores classic cars said if i did all the prep work and stuff for the body that he would teach me how to do it, and also spray the car cheap for me. So i jumped at the chance.

The car came out of the paint booth looking like this $600 and a month later... not bad for being just 16 and having a crash course on bodywork.

After all that bodywork (colorsanding and all), needless to say i'm pretty sick of bodywork now.
I was in high school so all i could do to the car was cheap mods, and i dont think i even knew about honda-tech then, so without any direction the stuff i did was pretty ricer I ended up with some fugly rims, painted interior pieces (omg how could i be so ****** stupid) and KYB AGX shocks w/ Tein S.Tech springs:

eww

and ******* ewww

I thought it was the **** haha.

Shortly after i statrted giving a crap about my car, my friend gave up his rattletrap 69 mustang straight six for a 93 del Sol Si, and we decided to go to the junkyard to hunt for parts one weekend... long story short, that day my car ended up sandwiched between my friends del Sol and some other POS car because traffic just had to come to a screeching halt on the damn highway at 1 in the afternoon just over a hill and around the corner

The cop told me there are accidents on that little stretch practically every day, as he wrote me a careless driving ticket... makes me wonder why they dont change the design of the road hmm? I was doing the speed limit and everything... reaction time was pretty good too... oh well, lesson learned.

Insurance told me it was a total loss, so i got $1700 from them after the $250 buyback (bastards ripped me off, but at least the buyback wasnt bad).
I bought my friends Sol off him for $800 too with plans to make one good car out of two, but that plan quickly fell through when someone offered me $3k for the both cars.

My friends sol.

After i sold some of my lame aftermarket parts, that meant i had enough cash saved + cash from this little incedent to just buy a whole 'nother car, so thats what i planned to do.

Once the guy i sold the Sols to had followed through on the same plan i origanally wanted to do (making a good car out of the 93 Si) he just gave me back my old '95 shell for free and to this day it sits in the bushes in my yard (redneck, i know lol).

On my search for another car i found ht, and i actually started learning useful stuff about cars from the interwebz. I had found a local club for del Sols, so i knew that was what i wanted to stick with, because the local people were pretty cool, and i still wanted that targa top bodystyle too.

4/5 months later i found a del Sol (on ht even) i both liked and could afford (they are most all utter garbage around here), and just days before i had to move to college i flew out to ohio to go get it.

$7000 for a 94 VTEC, hella minty, and loaded with extra mods. The original darksol's car for you OG's. 75k miles on the clock, an '00 jdm S80 trans, b16a cams, and tons of tasteful little extras that would have cost a small fortune if i had to go buy them myself.

The car was perfect except for the fact that there was no way it would last at college without getting ruined or stolen in no time Luckily my parents let me use a garage spot to park her in over the winter. So basically i was stuck at college with no car, but not for long.

I saved up enough to buy a daily driver DA for $1000, and i rocked that for about 4 months til i got sick of having to double clutch because of the synchros... If i had known how to change em out i would've but whatever. At the time i didnt so i stayed content with selling the car for more than i bought it for.

That didnt solve the fact that it was still winter and i still needed a daily driver. So in another oh so stupid decision i buy another thousand dollar car. this time a 89 CRX Si with a jdm d15b vtec. This car turned out to be a damn basket case. Tons of hidden, apparently unsolvable problems. I did a headgasket, and it quickly became apparent this car was cursed or hated me or something.

Once the headgasket was done a billion other things went wrong, and it left me stranded more than once. At one point 95 miles away from home. The car seemed content to sit in my shed though because the day i get someone over to my house with cash, is the day the car decides to die right in front of the potential buyers. So for while i left it for junk in the snowbank.

I finally got rid of the blaseted thing though after school was done for the year. Once again selling for more than i bought for.

Once summer came around around again i picked up some cheap einkies to roll on, those were ok til a pothole demolished one of them... but rims sure do look like garbage when your rollin on stock suspension.
Heres stock ride height... horrible isnt it? Thats my buddies 91 CRX with a jdm DOHC ZC in there too.

Bought myself some Ksports (like everyone else on ht apparently) and those are workin out pretty good so far despite what everyone might say about them... im watching them closely though.

One of my other friends bought himself a 95 GSR... so far he is 7 months into owning that... since then we have done the clutch, headgasket, timing belt, and had the motor out for a broken tensioner belt.... thats what you get when you buy a car with 200k+ on it though.

To replace the broken enkei, i got some cheap ARacing rims... heavy bastards weighing in at 17 lbs each, maybe someday i will be able to afford real rims, but not anytime soon im afraid. Did a few other things to it like jdm 1pc headlights, intake, exhaust, but like a good drawing i realize now you can ruin a car pretty quick by overdoing things.

Now im just waiting on the paint shop to paint another rear bumper for me, because the PO did a cruddy job of putting a ghetto speed hole in the rear bumper. Wire mesh. I hate it.
Other than that i think i'l just throw a lip on there and get the ASR combo, then save for some boost, eh?

Sorry for the novel guys.

Cliffs:
I get my license, i buy a car, it gets wrecked, i buy more, i sell a few, have a good time along the way lol.

LOL I bought the REX. The bitch actually had a Automatic P28 ECU. All I had to do was snip the good old rp17 compacitor and poof, idle problem gone as well as the CEL that would be there if the damn bulb was in the Dash unit. But she is still overheating and I noticed a tiny amount of oil in the coolant. So im thinking the Headgasket dance again and of course I will have the head checked for straightness and milled. Either way im like 500 bucks away from a b16 swap in this thing, after that the d15b will be put on an engine stand and built from the ground up....maybe FS the SOB....Who knows.

Perhaps you could also shed some light on the other problems....Besides the Gas gauge...ordeal...besides the steering rack needing rebuilt....It would help me worlds.
