Aluminum Head welding in Northern Virginia Needed!
I need someone who can weld in an injector valley in 2 heads. There are 3 valleys per head, so 6 total. Here is what I have done in the past:
Rather than have the heads welded, I filled them with a metal filler. My buddy wants me to part match his heads, but wants the valleys welded instead of filled.

Cut in new "valley"

Fill old valley & shape

So, instead of using metal filler, I want them welded first, then I can shape them when I do the port matching.
Anyone in NOVA that can do this and if so, how much?

you have to port match it for a 3L bottom end eh, I've had a few heads welded. Most welding shop should be able to do it because that part of aluminum won't be soaked with oil.
there is an epoxy that they use for this sort of thing...i see it in v8 stuff when they raise the runner walls and fill the floors, not sure what its called, a good machine shop should know
No, these are 3L heads going on a 3L block, but we are using the 2.5L SVT Split port LIM, so the oval port "tumble" heads needs to be matched to the 2.5L split port LIM. The heads will be factory new since they are being hot tanked and disassembled, so I don't have to work about shavings getting in the valve seats and such.
