1999 crv ex with 150k bought used-driver's side door lock problem.
with key:
-lock: drivers door and all other doors lock
-unlock: only drivers door unlocks and other doors remain locked
with honda keyless entry:
-lock: sometimes drivers door locks, other doors always lock
-unlock: most of the time drivers door does NOT unlock, other doors SOMETIMES lock
with ****:
-lock: drivers door and all other doors lock
-unlock: drivers door unlocks but all other doors do not unlock.
So is the problem with the driver's door lock actuator or with the plug in control module? I don't know squat about power door locks / actuators / modules!

I have replaced tons of actuators. The symptoms you explain are exactly as they are when I replace them. If you want to test, remove the door panel and unplug the actuator. It has two connectors plugged into it. The 2 pin connector, not the 3 pin, is the power/ground signal for the actuator. Unplug the 2 pin connector. With a volt meter, check for 12 volts that switches polarity when you operate the lock switch, at that 2 pin connector. If you have 12 volts that switches polarity as you press lock/unlock then the actuator is most likely failed. Hope this helps.

cool thanks a lot phootbag.
i actually took the door panel off but i couldn't get the lock assembly off because of the connection to the door handle. I don't do a lot of this "inside door" type of stuff and i didnt wanna break those little plastic clips everywhere.
now the next question is where to get a reasonably priced actuator. found aftermarket ones at parts train, car parts wholesale and speedy auto parts but price after tax and shipping to ca comes out to almost 80 bucks. part number i found was 72155S03J11 oem and H464904 aftermarket.

this is wat happened in my friend's corolla, but just wanna make sure it's the actuator before he go buy one...
when try to unlock the car using remote, all doors are unlocked except the driver door, does that mean it's the actuator? can it be fixed or does it have to be replaced? and after taking off the door, wat exactly does it look like? cuz i don't wanna end up taking off the wrong part...thanks a lot
