Default disabling car alarm

So I just bought myself a 1999 Civic EX, and I was wondering how to disable the car alarm. I live in a small town, where theft is low (ie, most people leave their doors unlocked). The alarm has already gone off a couple of times, annoying the heck out of me, so, how do I go about disabling it?

Thanks

Pull the fuses out on the power wires for the alarm. I did that for like a day, but then put them back in because theft is frequent where I live.

Thanks. That's what I ended up doing.

It was just the stock Honda car alarm.
