Default JDM exhaust problems

Hi...

I just got a JDM 5ZIGEN ProRacer A-Spec exhaust from Japan.

Now the exhaust is too long to fit my 99' Ek4 (b16a2). They tell me that is because the JDM Ek4 has a smaller 2,5 diameter CAT.

Now what CAT do I need to make this exhaust fit. And I need to pass emissions. My engine must be a ODB2 now that it's a 99' model.

Without knowing the size of the exhaust... Why not just get a stepped flange for the cat, so it can bolt on?

my mistake...
Whats "way too long"? Why cant you cut the flange, shorten it, reweld the flange?
I mean, it seems fairly obvious to me (?)

The exhaust is to long, because the JDM cat is smaller.

the only thing i would say to fix that would be to get a test pipe (if you dont have emissions i nyour state) and chop the flange and reweld it. Whatever cat you have it would be a PITA to do it on

It needs to pass emissions, so no test pipe. Just need where to get a cat that fits.

Well, you have two main options.

The first would be to modify (shorten) the exhaust B-pipe so that it will bolt up to your stock cat.

The second option would be to measure the distance between the exhaust B-pipe flange and the header, and then order a custom cat from somewhere like http://SMS-Products.com.

I quess the best thing to do is to get a JDM ITR 4-1 header, and a 2,5" cat. Then it's 2,5" all the way true.
