Accord/Prelude front mount question...
Sup guys, I havent posted in a while because I have been done the car for a while, but I think i might be doing some re-modeling of the turbo setup. Im sure this has been posted before (and i searched and found some stuff, but nothing solid) I have an h22 in a 92 accord and have very little room. I was just wondering how many of you boosted guys just ditch the front motor mount all together and how many of you guys built your own mount? (pics would be nice). I have no room at all with my current setup and I would be so much easyer to make a better setup if that mount wasnt there... thanks guys.
I ditech the front mount on 2 of my preludes, one was a turbo h23, the other i was using the camp header on my h22, no problems from me, on the turbo h23 i used a solid rear mouth, and liquid nail filled side mounts, o nthe h22all i used was the es rear inserts.
im not sure of how different the mounts are from the lude. but innovative mounts makes their mounts to eliminate the front mount on the bb2 chasis. couldnt hurt looking into.
there's a boosted H23 lude on SHO with a DSM setup and he was forced to ditch the front mount entirely, and he claimed to have no problems
if you HAFTA ditch the mount, i would DEF fill/strengthen the others
if you HAFTA ditch the mount, i would DEF fill/strengthen the others
I ditched my front mount also because of the mani and turbo combination. I compensated with a polyurethane rear mount (custom made by my shop) and i get no problems.
