now i noticed on this forum people talking about a vtec light. what wire do i splice and hook up to an led? the reason i asked the first question is cause i don't know much about engines, but im reading on here and trying to learn all i can, but still am having trouble keeping some of this technical stuff straight. my head is ripped apart right now and i am swapping on a y8 head, but they guy doing it never did a swap before, but i made sure this was an easy swap before i decided to do it. just need any info on things to watch for.

oh, this has bad news written all over it....i wouldnt worry about a "vtec light" just yet go to the ECU thread at the top of the forum and get the pin locations for the ECU that goes with your head. there should be one for VTEC Pressure Switch, VTEC Solenoid...you will probably have a CEL for a knock sensor though and vtec won't engage. i don't have a whole lot of info on mini-me swaps but i'd do a little more research on the swap before tearing your motor apart, and ESPECIALLY letting someone else who doesnt know what they are doing tear it apart.
