Just add the 500mhz head set, when v-tech kicks in you'll be talkin to god on that thing.

I'm sorry, that was insensitive of me. What you need is a vtec solenoid, cam, wiring harness (or run vtec wire yourself), ecu, and more fabrication skills than anyone on this forum could ever hope to have.
Or you could just get that new liquid vtec in the can. Honda sells it cheaper than your sister sells her ***.

All jokes and silly remarks aside: No you cannot make a non-vtec motor vtec capeable without swaping the head out.
There are plenty of good threads on this site that will lead you in the right direction on how to do a mini-me head swap. The cost, labor, parts lists, ect. Everything you need is here, you just have to find it.

K well I guess I'll be the first not to flame you.
Read these first and learn what VTEC is and how it works: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question229.htm
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft2.htm
Most likely you know what a "camshaft" is since you know what a "head" is. It should be self-explanatory from there as to why you cannot make a d16y7 v-tec without replacing the head.
*EDIT* guess I'm not the first lol

Ok, ok, I'm sorry. Had nothing to drink tonight but crown and cokes. Whiskey makes me a little mean-spirited.

From the sounds of your recent posts, it's not the Crown, you just have no clue what you are talking about. I mean as already stated, you could just replace the head and not need any "mad fabrication skillz y0."

Hey jerkoff, I dont really remember even being on the computer last night, but after reading my posts its obvious I was being sarcastic. I guess if you were smart enough (or had a sense of humor) you would have seen that.
Doesn't matter either way, because I dont answer to you. Have a nice day, big nuts.
