i just had my custom exhaust all finished up today. Took it to the shop and they welded it all up. Since i brought the headers, downpipe, resonator, and twin loop to them they only supplied the 2.25 pipe and welding.
As soon as i started my car i noticed something. During start up when the engine shakes a big the headers bump into the cross member. They are to close to them compared to the stock ones. Under load i can feel the vibrations in the pedal from the suspension due to the headers touching the cross member. All i can think of is file it down a bit to give some clearance. There is only about .5 of a cm of space between the two.
Suggestions? i told the shop they better fix it but since the headers are outside parts they said to bad. it sounds great but sucks due to the rubbing. BTW they are megan headers. Im pretty pissed off because they god so many finger prints all over the headers.

i figure 1 cm wont hurt it at all. Seeing as you guys replace them with those thin *** bars it can't be that bad can it?

You know, I read somewhere on 92lude.com I think, that you could actually take off the front crossmember IF YOUR CAR IS LOWERED! Anybody else heard about this? It is under their, "Engine Mods" on the home page on the leftside.

No. That's the front sway bars. Even so, I wouldn't recommend it. It's called oversteer. If you're not anticipating it, you'll end up in a ditch trying to mAd tYte doRifTo it!
BTW, there's a ton of misinformation on that site!
