Some (probably basic) early-90s civic questions
I've been poking around here for a few hours, and I'm sure what I need is here, but theres so much good information that I can't seem to find it, hopefully one of you all can point me in the right direction!
I've got a 90 civic hatchback thats pretty much on its last legs, the body is rusting away around the motor. A guy near my school has a 92 civic sedan with a good body, but a blown motor. The timing belt went, and as i understand it has an interface-type motor (correct?), so its valves and etc are shot.
Mainly, I was wondering if the motor I already own would bolt into the slightly newer civic? I have the 1.5L motor, and I believe the newer civic does too. I assume the motor mounts might need to be changed, but will the transmission bolt up? Will the computer work?
Also, the newer civic has an automatic, and mine has a manual. Are the automatics anything to be scared of? If the automatic dies, will the manual fit under the car the same as it does mine?
Anything you guys know would certainly be helpful

you can swap the motors but not the transmissions. don't forget to switch the automatic flywheel onto the 1.5 before you put it in your buddy's civic.
