has anyone else had a problem with their carbon fiber hoods? it looks streaky front to back like the carbon fiber was pulled on too hard and ruined the weave... need to tknow if this is a norm kinda thing... i have never seen another VIS hood before or any for that matter...

that's exactly it. these are usually laid by hand. people make mistakes in the manufacturing process.

is it structurally sound? the REAL use of CF hoods is for weight savings, not bling.

I am in the process of sanding out the imperfections and painting over mine....

it will be nighthawk black along with the rest of my car.




EDIT: although, I do like the look of CF on other parts. im just tired of CF body panels.

technically your post should be X3 since i was #1.

 

it seems structurally sound... the hood doesn't actually close all the way though... i will have to look at it more tomorrow... it got dark out and i don't have a garage at my house...
