ground control coilover kit
seriously
what do you guys think about coilovers
can you guys shed some light on this for me
because i dont know crap about suspension.
my car is a summer only car
i have heard bad things about coilovers.
something about the bushings go bad.
i dont know
but are ground control coilovers a good choice in the coilover world
how many of you are using these coilovers over springs
and finally do i need to get better shocks with these.
i want to lower my integra on stock tires and rims from the factory.
help please
thanx

i love gc's. they are the best for the price. and they are not sloppy, they have eibach springs so they are nice and stiff. and you can get diff spring rates too . i had a set with the stock shocks and it handled likeit was on rails.
I am waiting on:
Koni Yellow's
Ebiach/GC ERS springs 400/500
GC sleves
I will let you know when they get here and I get them on
But I have heard nothing but positive things like the post above me

of the sleeves available, ground control and skunk2 are top notch... ground control are more daily driver friendly depending on spring rates of course.

Ground Controls are one of the best coilover sleeve kits. I have them and I think they are absolutely great. You can choose your own rates(if you want). They already have good rates for a street setup, for every individual car.
if you have the money to get shocks then i'd recomend doing it all at once, that way you dont have to go through the whole process twice (install). the stock shocks will last a few years if you choose to keep them but to attain the full benefit of lowering your car you should get some shocks.
for coilover/sleeve systems GC and Skunk 2's are good..you can specifiy the spring rates you want for the Eibach springs for whatever type of ride you want (firm, race, soft, etc..) I would get new shocks along w/ your coil overs like Koni Yellows as they handle well and can handle pretty high spring rates...
I would also save up and do both the GC and Koni's at once.. as either way you save.. if your doing it yourself.. you save yourself the time/labor of taking your whole suspension apart twice (your basically doing the same thing twice if you replace it in 2 steps).. and if your paying a shop to do it. your saving yourself time (waiting for the car to get done) and money (labor) if you do the springs/coil overs and shocks at the same time..
or u can save up and get a true coil over system like Tiens hehe..
personally I have Koni Yellows and Eibach sportlines.. got this back in like 97 or so.. I like how my car rides..
