Default Spraying nitrous??

I got a 99 Honda Civic EX and I was really thinking about starting to spray. I was gonna get a 50 shot of nitrous. I wanted to know how hard it is to instal it. And how does it work. At what rpms should you use it. So pretty much all the basics. THANKS.

You'll need colder spark plugs, a good tune, and a lot of other things to make it "reliable"

Nitrous is usually used from mid to upper rpm range. Too much spray at lower rpms can cause nitrous backfire and set your car on fire.

IMO, it's not worth the risk for the "gain"

When your out of nitrous, you're out of fast-ness.

you just need colder plugs and to retard your timing like 2-3 drgrees. also i/h/e is highly recommended.

i know people running a 75 shod on thier daily car safely and reliably.

Ahaha, happened to my camaro, not because it was used too low, because I used too big of a nozzle for what I had the timing set for. Nailed 2nd and when the tires caught I sprayed and it backfired and set my intake filter on fire.

50 shot would be fine but you must remember every time you use it u take 1000 miles off your engines life

rule of thumb is 2 degrees per 50hp, so pull 2 degrees is you run a 50 shot.

DEFINATELY run a WET shot (zex preferably)

1 heat range colder plugs to start with, learn to read spark plugs. install new plugs, make 2 nitrous passes (dont spray for more than 10-15 second intervals) and pull plugs checking for heat and detonation. too much heat will make the porcelain shiny and detonation (in the early stages) will show up as pepper looking stuff on the porcelain.

NEVER spray close to redline (i recommend shifting 500-1000rpm before redline just to be safe). if you are spraying a WET shot and you hit the rev limiter you will do damage.

NEVER spray in 1st gear, if you lose traction (which you most likely will in 1st with even a 50shot) you could quickly hit the rev limiter (see above statement)

lastly, never spray more than 50% of your engines WHP, so if you have a sohc NEVER more than a 50shot. (its doable, but not reliable).

need any more nitrous help let me know. or if you need a writeup with pics let me know.

oh and a 50shot will last about 15 1/4 mile passes.

ABOUT, that all depends on if your 1/4 mile is 8secs or if its 18secs.

on my integra i went through a 10lbs bottle in a week just driving around the streets (having fun, bored) it gets expensive if you play with it. easiest thing to do is leave the bottle off, then you arent tempted to hit it out of boredom.

wow so if you use it for 1 sec its the same as holding it through a whole bottle, and with your math it only takes using it 100 times to take 100k miles off the life of the engine, HAHA, thats funny right there i dont care who you are.
