On my 1996 LX Accord, I used the trunk release latch inside the cabin of the car and heard something pop inside the trunk. Come to my surprise, one of the rods snapped. I ordered and received 2 new rods TAS Auto Parts. I'm having a hard time trying to install the new rod, cuz I'm using 2 small studs to keep the trunk lid up while I'm trying get my azz in there to fix it. Has anyone experienced this problem?

 

yeah pain in the ***, we used to have to install new springs that came with the spoiler kits at the dealership.
Jack the trunk lid as high as you can go with a broom stick, the higher the trunk lid is up the less torsion on the springs
