Just finished my swap need a little help
hey guys i just finished my h22a jdm swap into my fith gen lude. i figured there would be codes so i had a code reader ready. for some reason it wont work on my car? it works cuz it works on my moms mustang but wont work on my car now. says "connection error". other than that my rpm gage and mpg gages arent working? any ideas? also my car starts shaking when i turn the AC on? My low fuel light is on and i have half a tank? the car sounds great but i cant drive it yet because i cant bleed my clutch cuz im the only one here and cnt find anyone to give me a hand for a couple hours other wise id try and drive it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
the guages and tach would be related to the vss check that? and why not just do a gravity bleed on your slave so u can bleed the clutch your self. you put in a jdm h22a which is odb1? so your code reader reads odb2 systems? unless you got a 96 h22a. if its odb1 then use a paper clip at the service port not sure how your plug is since it was odb2 might work.
I did that exact same swap and my code reader worked perfectly, it might be your reader, the only problems i had was that my speedometer, vtec, and cruise control wouldnt work, but i just swapped out the speed sensor on the tranny and all of that worked, other than that, let me just tell you, once your on the road, you can ****** feel that extra torque
alright i bled my clutch and took it for a real small 100 ft. drive it feels great!!!! but ya still no rpm gage but now realized the speedometer works fine. so are they possibly ran by different things. is yes please tell me were to find it. it is OBD2, its a p5m ecu. oh and i forgot to let you guys no i swaped a skunk 2 manifold as well so any suggestions would be great.
sry i have a lab top and my friend created an account on it and now evry time i get on it i forget to switch the user names so I am actually Badassmother. sry for the confusion.
The tach runs off of the small plug on the dizzy I think. It is the blue wire? Check to see that it is properly connected. As for you AC check the tension on the accessory belt and make sure the compressor is bolted all the way up with all four bolts. Did you do anything to the ecu at all?
