Default **Pic Request! USDM EK Bumper with JDM SiR bumper moldings **

I was just pondering the idea of sombody doin that, and was wondering if any1 has attempted this before? I saw some JDM SiR bumper molding for and ek for sale ($40) and was looking at the SiR bumper and the olnly difference is the molding so I want to see if it would look ok to just sumhow stick the SiR Moldings on an USDM front bumper (and rear if you have that).

BUMP if you can Read!

IN A NUTSHELL: I want to see what the JDM SiR (96-98) bumper moldings would look like if I just stuck them on a USDM civic bumper (96-98) and saved $700

the only thing that would be weird is that the si-r bumpers have a recess (dent) in them where the moldings go so they sit flush.

i dont know if that makes sense

Yes they do, a member on H-T was actually selling them once for like 40 bucks.

I've heard of this for an EG, but where would you get them for an EK?

I'm sure somebody has tried putting the jdm moldings on a USDM bumper, no1 has a pic or what?

i was planning on doing this too, but in the end i got lazy. the easiest thing to do is buy a aftermarket 99 bumper (40-60$) and buy an aftermarket 98 sir bumper ($150 at jdmcarboy) chop both bumpers at the first curb and mold the top of the 99 bumper wit the bottom the sir bumper. the job is simple and its even easier if u get a shop to do it, cuz i assume u have no bodyshop skills. this way u keep the 99 headlight (1000000x better then the 98 ones) but u now have a sir bumper. as for the rear just buy the aftermarket 98 one it will fit fine (another $150)

i know ur saying just to add molding to the 99 bumper, but w/o the indents that come on the sir bumper itll look nasty as hell. i know someone that but a 99 bumper on his 98 front end (same thing u want just backwards) ill look for it and edit in the picture and link later

That is totally opposite of what I want actually

I HATE the 99-00 front end I want 2 see what the 96-98 SiR moldings look like on a USDM 96-98 hatch bumpers.

first time ever heard anyone say that..but ok w/e. lol
the molding just add to a reg bumper would be ugly as hell and stcik out nasty (even the thin one) just buy the sir hatch bumpers for about $300 for both.

Man, I am just so sick of seeing the 99-00 front on EK hatches that if I bought a 99 or 00 Ek hatch I would put a 96-98 front end on it! no joke!

Psssh $300 total for both! Where?

I didn't write "Post what you think about my idea" anywhere, so keep ur opinions in ur head

jdmcarboy.com

call him up its not on his site but i know he has em.
i know he sell the original front sir for $170

ps "i was pondering", "i was wondering if" and "i want to see if it looked OK" u are clearly asking for opinions. i have seen what ur asking for in person before and it looks ghetto. that why it is my opinion that if u want the sir look get the real thing.

Jdmcarboy.com I hear nothing but bad things about that site, and they are replica Sir that don't fit good at all. If you've seen in person then go take pics and post em up I want to see how "ghetto" they actually look.
I'm clearly not asking for opinions, I'm asking for pics (when i want to see what something LOOKS like that means Pictures ) If i wanted opinions I would have typed "TELL ME YOUR OPINIONS, I'm so Interested in what others think!" but i didn't. Thank you for your help though

1st if you stuck the jdm moldings on the factory bumper it would look like **** and stick out. now stop doin the cheap way out and buy the damn bumpers or dont worry about it. i dont think anyone is dumb enough to cut holes in the bumper to test that or ever do it

2nd the people saying do they sell thin molding for them.. they already come thin. just like the side ones in japan.. use your head. no factory usdm civic came with thin moldings
