Default CRX is unsuccesful money pit

I did everything pro spent 10,000 on upgrades and still cant drive my car. Anyone else ever have these issues with old crx's? 13,000 spent total and i went from dreaming about crx's to dreaming about a nice stock civic !! how backwarsds is that? Anyone have any advice about giving up or mabye opening another credit card , is it worth it? I have a 2.0 vtec and i would rather have a 1.6 non vtec stock motor with a working tranny , yummmm that makes me horney thinking of a car that can drive places

Well, when you go to swap's and are not knowledgable about all the stuff being done it get's pricey.

I have to say that my 88 CRX si has not given me any sort of problems. (Knock on wood) I have only spent 4g's doing all maintence stuff, 99% myself.

So is there any thing technical we can help you with, or give you our opinions on what is going on.

With all the problems you have had, I remember your other zillion posts you either need to sell everything and take a loss or take it to another shop.

Why would you spend that much on a non-running vehicle? Who gives a crap about appearance at 1st.

Build a nice, strong running motor then go on from there.

your thread title is incorrect.

originally you put:

"CRX is unsuccesful money pit "

it should read:

"MY CRX which i took to shops who had no idea what the expletive they were doing and stole my money, essentially, is now an unsuccesful money pit"

i know its a little longer, but that would be more accurate.

and why do you keep making posts on here looking for attention and sympathy?

honestly for the money you spent, you should have found a guy locally in ohio from honda tech, paid him like 1,000 to do all the work, and youd have a fine running car and probably gained a friend out of it.

but why denounce all crx's just because you got screwed?

this logic is annoying and false. if you don't want to get your hands dirty, then you need someone you can trust to do it for you, and its going to cost you.

simple as that.

also, another alternative would be to cut your losses, sell the car on craigslist AS IS for a couple grand, use that as a downpayment on something with a factory warranty.

then its the dealers problem when things go wrong.

For 13g's you could have a pro-painted, Real Mugen Kitted, K20 swapped EF CRX with mint interior and rollbar, and carbon/kevlar bucket seats.

Well, 13g's if you source the parts yourself/do all the work yourself. Taking a car to a shady shop and breaking the bank with dreams of a clean/fast/reliable CRX quickly turns into an unsuccessful money pit. Hence why I do all of my work myself. Hell, I think I'm only 3-4g's into my car (car inclusive) with decent paint, 6 point cage, clean interior, semi-fresh paint, all suspension goodies, etc.

Good luck throwing more money at that shop. Let us know when you're 50g's in and dreaming of an m3 .

The scariest thing is you said open another CC... meaning you modded on credit.

My god, this is why US is 2.35 TRILLION dollars in consumer debt.

To you non econ people, consumer debt is not what the US owes, but what stupid people in the US owe because they buy **** they can't afford.
