Default *Pics* 42R SFWD EG hatch

Here are some pics of my buddies car thats almost done. Car has been down for about 8 months. Last year went 10.75@138 on 84mm GSR with GT35R. Still have to make the cage a 10 point, parachute, oil catch pan etc. but should be cranked up in the next few days and hitting the dyno next week. Ill be driving it for the rest of this year at a few IFO events and we plan to run SFWD and TS with it next season.

Quick rundown on the setup-

85mm GSR Benson sleeved
9:1 JE pistons
Pauter rods
PnP gsr head
SK2 Pro1+ cams
Edelbrock im
1600cc injectors
S300w/AEM boost solenoid
AEM injector driver
GT4294R
FR divided top mount
Tial 44's
XS eng. intercooler with 3'' piping
Comp clutch twin disc
DSS 5.9 axles
Quaife LSD
Aeromotive Eliminator pump and regulator, 10an feed line, 6an return

Now for some pics (Excuse the dirtyness, havent had a chance to clean it up yet)

Sweet!

Will the radiator fit in its factory location if you put the slim fan front facing and switch the polarity to push? From the pic it looks like it would clear the downpipe, but pictures and seeing it in person is different..

Looks sick though! ..

Yeah it was touching the radiator even without the fan on there so thats why we turned it like that.

Well it was a 10 second car, he bought it with plans to run it as it was. We found out a couple pistons were melted in motor when he bought it so he had to get new pistons and go bigger bore. While the motor was getting rebuilt someone offered the guy decent money for the turbo stuff that was on the car so he sold it and decided he wanted to get into the 9's with the car. As far as the cage, he is simply adding the bars to make the current 8 point a 10point. So its not like he took the car apart and redid it all, just upgraded what he had.

I predict you're going to have fuel pump issues with it mounted like that.

Other than that the car looks alright

I think he means that because the pump is designed to be "gravity fed", you would want the inlet of the pump lower than the outlet on the tank/sump/etc.. You might not have an issue at WOT though, although decel could be an issue, but does that matter?

Oh ok, well here is another pic of the pump mounted and the lines hooked up. The guy who made the bracket for it said he has done it this way before and it worked good. The inlet on the pump is about level with the fitting on the sump after looking at it. Hopefully we wont have an issue with it.

My pump is about that height, no problems thus far.

I have an NSX here with an A1000, pump is mounted on the pass side rear shock tower and is drawing fuel from the top of the tank, no in tank pump, and it seems to work fine. Not the way i would do it, but it's done like that and it works.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Good to know, ive never personnally used a sumped tank fuel setup and was just going off of what i have seen/ been told by the guy who mounted it. We should be starting the car up today or tommorrow and then heading over to the dyno next week. Ill post an update soon.
