Default ES motor mount inserts ... Q's about the Quick ties included ...

Hey guys!

Are the quick ties which come with the ES motor mount inserts necessary?
I got off the phone with ES and they told me that they are only used to keep the mounts in during installation. After installation, they serve no purpose.

Reason why I ask is, I'm finally going to be installing the rear torque mount inserts and I lost the quick ties. Should I be fine or will they pop out??

Thanks!
-Nick

Use regular zip ties if you aren't comfy. The back mount is a bitch to get to. could also use a tiny bit of **magical** duck tape if that helps hold them for you & take off after you get the bolts back in.

hope that helps...

the rear insert does not require the ties..
the bracket holds the inserts.. in.

Oh wait ..... so you are telling me that I need to take the quick ties out when I'm done???? The two insert sets up front (which I installed a year ago) still have the quick ties in them. Do I need to get them out?

.....i don't think the rear one uses any zip ties. Just the front two lower do.

You could prolly omit all the zip ties if you wanted.

I actually cut into one of my inserts when cutting the excess length off those zip tie inserts.

Flaps? You must be referring to the upper mounts, which the ES kit does not provide inserts for. The ES kit includes inserts only for the right, left and rear LOWER mounts.

there are 3 mounts... the 'flaps' you are talking about are on the upper mount near the cam gears.... that mount is not used with a set of ES inserts...

the lower, two, front mounts and the lower rear mount are the ones that recieve inserts.

there are FIVE mounts.
one on each side visible from the top.
one in back.
one on each side visible from the bottom front.
total = five.
Inserts you mention are for the one in back and the two lower front mounts only.

(The upper side mounts visible from the top have no inserts available.)

Leave the zip ties in.

Whoever at ES told you that they're only there for installation is either ignorant or bs'ing you.

The zip ties are there to prevent them from popping out of the two front, lower mounts after they're installed. Another possible solution to this is to use a larger washer for the mount stud on top of the one that's already there.

The outer front inserts on mine popped out.
