Default Window trim removal. 4dr.

Hey

First off i tried searching, but i didnt really know what it was called, so that didnt help my case. I would like to know how to remove this piece of trim that sits against the window on the doors to keep the water out.

Heres a reference picture so you know what im talking about. Any help would be good cheers.

i've taken it off of my EG hatch.

from what i remember; i removed part of the rubber around the upper-back corner, then the filler piece (tall piece above what you are trying to remove), then the piece you want to remove. i don't think i had to remove the mirrors.

but what i do remember, is that it was a pain.

it's a pain, don't know what the sedan is like, but to save the clips from breaking you have to use some finesse. if your inside you would pull the molding toward the inside and up some just like it would need to come off, then use a small flathead to release the molding from the clip while still pulling up so as you go along they don't relatch. eh, hope it helps man...you'll probably break them though.

You will break the clips, and just like everyone else said its a pain.

I would just order a new set of clips before removing them, so you can get it back on sooner. I always have the tendency to break clips, and ordering a new set before hand speeds up the whole process.

Hmm well the reason im trying to get mine off is because they dont sit against the windows properly and let water into the door. So i guess i need new ones anyways.
