Clutch issues...
It feels kind of spongy. When I take off in first gear, the car seems to "hop". It is really hard to shift into other gears. When the car is in gear it seems fine. I can hammer the car in that gear and it doesn't slip. The clutch is hydraulic, right? Isn't self adjusting too? I haven't been driving my car because I commute on the bus to work. I drive it a couple of times a month now. I didn't get a chance to check the fluid. Anything else I should check or do? Thanks.
Check the fluid- sounds like air in the line. If it is low- add fluid and reach down to the slave cylinder (front of trans) and squeeze the release arm and cylinder together (manually operate the slave) to help force out air.
fixhondas,
thanks for the tip. my friend did that stuff for me before i read your reply. you were right though. the fluid was low and the pressure was restored. thanks.
