repairing bent wings west rear bumper??
i was looking into bending back my bent rear wings west bumper cover for my honda crx. is it possible to heat up very hot, then place on my brand new bumper support and have it dry into its original shape?
or is there any other way to repair a bent polyurathane bumper cover?
i dont kno if u can tell but it is bent up pretty bad, lines dont match up at all with the quarter panels and the part right above my muffler is bent outwards

i noticed on the right.... its sagging quite a bit.
i wouldnt heat it if i were you just yet. take it to a body shop and ask a professionals opinion.

My dad repaired the damage from backing into a post on a rental car before returning it.
If you don't mind possibly making it worse, you could give it a try.
Use a heat gun (hair dryer might not be large enough) and try to get the bent area slowly warmed up and let the heat soak through the plastic, then push it back into place. Don't get it too hot or it will melt/burn/bubble.
Good luck, and I'm sorry I don't have personal experience to back up this suggestion.

the WHOLE bumper is bent. not just a little part, thats what i think i need to do, heat it up and put it on the bumper support and hold it in the place i wanna until it comes back to normal.
but how do i heat an ENTIRE bumper cover at once?

i would still check with a professional body shop before you try that. it could crack and distort the paint too and make the bumper look even worse than it does now.
consult a professional. he might just tell you to buy a new bumper and have it resprayed.

another question, i just bought a new bumper support for the rear, i just put it on with the bent rear bumper cover, and it did not bend back to shape at all.
do u think the bumper cover could be bending the support? i dont want to have just ruined a brand new bumper support.

every hear of a torpedo heater, ready heater? any kerosene like monster sized torch like heater will heat it enough. Im not saying to do this heat and bend method, im just telling you how to heat since you asked.

If the bumper has normalized to that shape than I think you may be out of luck.
I left my skirts in a hot atic for a couple years (causing them to warp) and was never able to heat them up and bend them back. All i did was waste my time and ended up having to buy them again. however, I'm not a bodywork pro...
BTW: you should have kept the 88 lights.
