I got my car running!!! It runs good too. Only thing I have done so far is let it idle. But, at idle my wastegate is open. I disconneced my boost controller, and have the side port of the WG plumbed to an intake mani vaccum source. The top hole is open to the air.

Anyone have any ideas to fix this? I don't want to drive the car until I get this WG issue settled.

 

Did you install the little steel ring that came with your Tial 'gate?

other than having no boost pressure, why is it bad to drive with the wastegate stuck open? Unless you have it to vent open atmosphere, then I would worry about melting things in your engine bay and smelling real bad while you smoke down the street.

I did do a partial pull in third from 3000 to about 6000 rpms at WOT....I must say it was getting QUITE quick, and it was only at like 4.5-5 psi!!

 

i am having a problem with my tial wastegate. i've had this wastegate for about a couple weeks and ever since i installed it, the wastegate opens very soon at 2.7psi! with my delta it was normal with 6.5 psi. i installed the ring that came with tial with no gasket since most of you guys aren't running one. what is the problem here? wrong spring on the tial wastegate??

oh and before i used to get only .1 bars before i moved the vac line to the throttle body!

tee your vac line into the brake booster off thhe intake manifold...see what happens.

 

freak, boost controller... your broblems will be solved... mine farted at 2-3 psi before the controller

 

thanks bmm but i thought the spring inside was supposed to open at .45 bars?? i am planning to get a boost controller until i have money..which will be awhile.. so for the time being i wish the wastegate would work properly....
