Default Power Steering Removal Kit Placement...

Well I finally decided to get rid of all the power steering junk under my hood and car, and found a really nice spot to mount the reservoir/breather for the kit. Kit was purchased from user Padawan if I remember correctly and came with all the correct Aeroquip fittings.

Car feels really good with the kit... You can see in the 2nd picture the Tilton reservoir/breather kind of lines up with the other Clutch MS and Brake MS...

I drove it just with the belt removed for a year, it feels a lot nice with everything removed and the kit added...

It feels kind of in between what it felt like with the Power Steering on and functional and with the belt only off.

Without the negative resistance of the PS of course...

Have had the same setup on my PY since I started tracking it. Feels great, and that Padawan kit is totally complete.

I removed my whole rack, lines and pump. Installed a manual rack from a Del Sol and have never regreted it. Just remember to modify the "C" clamp that holds the rack in place.

If my rememberance is correct I think the weight savings w/ the man/rack swap (including removal of... pump, lines, brakets and fluid) is around 28lbs.

I did the same delete on the track car...using Realtime's setup, which is basically what Padawan sells. Works really good. I ran out of tubing so I ended up mounting it on the inboard side of the tower (hidden by the ITR front bar)

I put a manual rack w/ sub-frame and changed mines over, than using the p/s rack w/ a resovior. And using the maual sub-frame, you dont have to worry about modifying the c clamp. But you did a good job tho.

Maybe one day he'll get back around to it.
