Default Crazy Leak.

I have a 94 Accord EX with 190,000+ miles on it. There's oil dripping somewhere from the timing belt cover. the original cover was damaged on its edges(like it was shredded !?!) as well as the rubber seals mating it to the engine. I replaced the upper cover, but it only slowed down the leak somewhat. I'm betting there are some more damaged pieces somewhere, what's your take?

Also, I have a 96 Accord LX, did those come with rear sway bars, because I sure don't have one.

The timing cover isn't supposed to be any kind of oil seal. The oil is leaking out from somewhere inside there. Check out:

- valve cover gasket can leak into the timing belt area.
- camshaft seal
- balance shaft seal (2 of 'em)
- crankshaft seal
- oil pump seal against block

is this leak running you out a quart or more in a matter of minutes....my buddies H22a was having an issue very similar to yours....it had a constant flow of oil streaming down thru the timing belt cover to the ground....we pulled the timing belt cover off and replaced the balance shaft seals for like 20-30 bucks and was back and running next day....the seals wernt easy to install though....we didnt have alot of room to move around....good luck man...and hope it's an f-series....lol

No, I get a puddle of oil about 4 inches in diameter. It's not a huge leak, but I autocross it, so I need to pass tech inspection. It does sound as though it's a seal leak.

And yes, it is a stock F22B1 motor. In fact, everything on it is stock, for now.

Thanx, I'm actually heading up to South Georgia Motorsports Park this weekend to see if I can run. Last time I passed tech, because it wasn't dripping when they checked it. I have a little video of some of the runs from the last event at my website, http://www.teamjamoto.com/dixieregionpage.htm . You might know the site as the original source of the infamous 'RX7 Incident'.

Yep, that's the one. the website is a piece of crap right now, but I'm in the midst of redesigning and putting in good content. Maybe I can capture some more video with that much excitement so everybody will flood the site again. Damn near crashed the site when I put that video out.
