Well, it looks like I may have to have my GSR head rebuilt. While it's out, might as well go for the gusto and have at least a Stage 1 polish job, just to clean up the the rough finish and smooth it out. But will I still be able to smog the car afterwards? The block is a JDM Type R.. had to run the GSR head to smog OBD1.

Could I run leaner with a Hondata with a Stage 1 and pass?

And if I can sneak past smog with a Stage 1, is a Stage 2 possible?

The combustion chamber in this situation should play no roll. It would be your tune that makes it pass or not.

 

I traded in my 2000 Civic Si (b16a2) that had been port and polished and still had ctr pistons in it. The dealership never called me about it so I'm assuming it passed smog.
