put it on an output and use a button, or clutch switch.

Or even try the e-brake.

i dont recommend the ebrake, ive seen it on more than one occasion where the ground signal can make contact while the car is going down the track, and using the ebrake during the burn out is very beneficial. there is obviously ways around that however

I'm with tepid, only because i've been through the exact same situation and i couldn't get it to work either. I really think it's an aem issue.

i'd pay good money to know HOW mine started working all the sudden again??

i tried a bunch of differnt vss gears
differnt speed gears on differential

2 different interior harness's
2 or 3 differnt engine harness's

the only thing i can think is maybe my AEM box just decided to start working all the sudden. i really have no idea?

un AEM related, but I had a speed sensor issue in my old EK where the thing would intermittently work, but be dead most of the time, I tried multiple sensors ( about 5 of them) I finally just chopped the connector off and put a new one on and wallah it worked, however it looks like you guys tried that

weird.. i never had a 2step problem with my aem.. the 2step is one of the things i like most about that ems (super easy to set up/change, no extra wiring or buttons, completely hands free).

since this thread is going, how far apart to you set your rpm settings on your two steps, I've had mine set at 100rpm difference and 30 rpm difference and I like the 30 better. And what would be the benifits/downfalls of each?

Ive had a few cars where the VSS wasnt working on the B-series tranny and it came to be that the middle pin was corroded. Im pretty positive its from putting the motor/trans and the coolant getting in the sensor connector from the thermostat housing. Just swapped out the connector and everything good.

i've fixed several cars with VSS problems, and all were corrosion of the plug.my scenario is that it's from spray from driving on wet roads getting to the plug since it's one of the lowest engine harness plugs?i dunno.
also,i'd say it's well worth it to fix the problem and trigger it off the VSS.it's how i have my AEM system set up,and i love it.pretty much idiot-proof

Is your paycheck enough to cover a plane ticket and LOTS of beer?

Let's just say one paycheck is what the average person brings in all month. I am bragging here, but I have not made less than 100k a year since I was 22.

Still wanna bet?

If you cant run the engagement and disengagement off the vss then the clutch switch would be my next choice..Thats something you would want to keep hands free..
