aem short ram problem
Ok im writing this because i have now had the same problem in 2 cars wiht the same intake. aem short ram is ****. I bought it for my 04 civic crashed it
got an 05 and bought another one. both of them broke in the same spot at about 5000 miles. The braket that hold the middle of the intake breaks off and leaves a good hole in the side of the piping. so to all. dont buy this product its a wast. and if anyone knows a good intake to replace this one please let me know

that sucks i've had my aem sr for 210K miles now no problems but if you must get a injen i dont think its any better as far as power goes but the quality it should hold up for more than 5k

i had a fujita CAI on my '95 Civic Ex, it was an exact replica of the Injen CAI and about $100 less (they are both designed by the same guy). Honestly i would think that it's hard to mess up and intake, afterall, it is just a pipe with a filter on the end. Maybe look into getting an intake with a warranty or something like that. Also when you install it this time, don't tighten it so much that it cracks after 5000 miles

I'm sorry to tell you but if you follow the proper installation it won't happen like that.
AEM has a big name in terms of intake system and all their products has nicely written instruction manual for you to follow for the installation. Why don't you bring it to a mechanic maybe it's still fixable. cheers.
