Default Konig Quality

I had some Limited Tuning Alloy 18" wheels with 215/35R18 tires on them and hit a bad pothole which broke 2 of the wheels. Now I was told at first by a few people that this will happen with 18" wheels as the there isn't any tire on there so the wheel takes all the hit. I got to calling around to shops trying to get 2 more and had places tell me they stopped carrying them due to bad quality with people coming back saying they hit a hole and they broke or the chrome coming off. Now I got to looking around and Konig Unknown's look about like the Limited Alloy's which i really liked the look of. Are the Konig's decent quality that will hold up to hitting potholes or will any 18" wheel break like that? I'm just wondering if I just had crappy wheels or if all 18"s with low profile tires are like that.

any 18" rim on a civic will bend/break if you hit a pothole. even expensive jdm forged wheels will. so best bet just run a smaller rim. or keep replacing them when you hit a pothole.
