98vtec, Any reason for the M2A4? Say over the F4 or Y4? Well, the M2Y4 has completely different gear ratios actually...

Your reason for the 4.62 FD over the 5.2 FD (Correct..?) on the market..? Save some gas??

Everything else is understandable.. Heh

Oh, just wondering if anyone would know if a Quaife fit in a T2W4??

Bah forgot, and to the OP.. Get what sounds best to you and for your budget.. It also depends on what you are going to be using the car for..
I have a M2B4 that I'm thinking about selling... Contact me if you're interested..

[Edit: Missed typed the M2Y4 Tranny code.]

why pay extra for an LSD tranny when the gears between the two are the same and your gonna replace the stock LSD with a quaife.

Eh??? Gears between which two Tranny's are the same??

A4, F4, and Y4 are all Non-LSD and the T2W4 is LSD yes, but it doesn't have the same gears as any of the previous Tranny's...

M2A4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.034 - 0.787 - 4.266
M2B4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.034 - 0.787 - 4.266 LSD
M2F4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266
M2Y4 - 3.285 - 1.956 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266
T2T4 - 3.285 - 1.956 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266 LSD
T2W4 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.812 - 4.266 LSD
U2Q7 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266 LSD

Thinking maybe of the T2T4??

I didn't meant imply that I would buy a LSD Tranny and replace it with a Quaife, just asking.. Everyone wants to know if a M2B4 LSD Unit, or any other stock LSD Unit, will fit in a USDM or Non-LSD Tranny Case.. So just wondering if a Quaife would fit in a Stock LSD Tranny Case, although, now that I think about it, why wouldn't it...? Heh

Well Im very interested in this subject also. Im looking into replacing my transmission here soon with someone else. currently its m2a4, and from the gearing charts it'd make sense to get the U2Q7 for wanting short gearing and race, but how hard are those to find? And they install in a prelude right? Im in a 4th gen h22a right now. Would I have better luck getting a T2W4 since its so close in gearing? What are the costs of said transmissions?

if you're turbo'd then you might want to look at some of the trannies with longer gears unless you are strictly looking at the stock lsd and $$ concerns of an aftermarket

I'm open for sugestions. I just need to get the car back together and can't really afford an aftermarket LSD and a new tranny. Longer gears are fine for me, the cars got the power to pull through them....

better do your own research and development then. I highly doubt many of the people here will give out their hard earned secrets without you doing your homework.
