I grew up in the 80s when Civic's weren't exactly cool to own. A friend just bought a 2007 EX and I have to say, the Civic has come a long, long way. I love the dash and the blue lighting /digital speed readout - the only thing I find a little 'wierd' is - well - whenever I see a new Civic cruising, I can tell exactly how fast it's going.
Otherwise.. Very nice car.. It's so much more roomy than older models - and I guess this is why it's not the entry level vehicle anymore.. The Civic has grown up, huh?

The civic definitely moved up from the Entry level model to the middle child of the food chain.
It was always leaning more towards economy with the hatch options... in the newer model the removal of any 3 door choices ,solidified it.
Also the Fit & forthcoming S1000 models helped that as well.

yeah, it's a goofy little 1.0L ~120hp fwd car.. styling is supposed to be "s2000-esque" and the drive "CRX-esque" Doesn't look like it'll ever make it to the US though.

I hate that... People don't know how to dim their ****. I keep mine at 0 - 1 at night. (on the dimmer adjustment)

I find it silly too - that the MPH is right up front and center for everyone to see.. It really makes you stick out like a sore thumb to undercover cops. I mean, if you're REALLY speeding - you're going to get caught. But you might have gotten away with it if you were doing 10mph over or so - without it being glaringly obvious from the speedometer.
Otherwise - a rear wheel drive honda sports car would be really cool.. Especially if it were anywhere near $20k...
