My wife's '96 V6 has had one of the lock mechanism's start freaking out and making a loud noise (bad motor/actuator for it). We had the dealer replace it since I didn't feel like f--king with it.

Now the left rear door is doing it as well ......... what the f--k??

Has anyone else had problems with their power door locks freaking out on them? Is this a common thing? The car is out of warranty, and it was like $200 to get it fixed ......... don't feel like paying it out again for another door .......

Any help would be appreciated.

 

My brother has a 97 lx and his locks are constantly locking and unlocking and occasionally making a bad grinding noise. Its been determined on his that it is his alarm causing the locking/unlocking, and a bad actuator causing the grinding.

 

Yeah, my right door sometimes makes sounds when I turn off the car... I'm sure it's just the lock saying that it's on its last legs, especially since everything else in my car seems to be dying.

 

Had all of the door actuators replaced on my 95. I just dont care anymore. No more $ on the car, I can deal w/the annoyning noise

 

D.I.Y.S. = do it yourself. Haynes manual shows you how to do a lot of common work and it cost only $14. In the Twin Cities labor rate is about 95/hr for the honda dealers

 

Cool, thanks guys ...... I didn't feel like going out and spending another $50 on another Helms manual. Guess spending a few bucks on a Haynes one won't be so bad!

 

wassup man. may right rear door was doin that too. i know 4 other of mah friends accords that does the same thing. i dunno wassup with that BS. but i agree with the other guy that said no more money on the car. don't feel like fixing it. plus i have shaved door handles so it doesn't really matter hahahaha
